JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR FACULTY

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics currently has over 20 faculty members who hold primary appointments, with an equal number of secondary members from other Departments at Case and Institutions in Cleveland. This provides for a rich scientific environment encompassing a diverse set of disciplines from structural/functional analysis of protein to whole animal physiology and research topics spanning physiological and pathophysiological processes in virtually every organ system. The Department of Physiology and Biophysics is undergoing a significant expansion over the next several years in which it is anticipated that 10 new faculty members will be recruited. JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS

There are currently over 20 postdoctoral fellows performing research within the Department. Importantly, the Department maintains a mentoring program that prepares postdoctoral fellows for grant writing and scientific presentations. The primary purpose of this initiative is to aid in the eventual transition to independent investigator. Postdoctoral fellows receive competitive salaries and fringe benefits. JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR STAFF

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics currently maintains a support staff of 7 people responsible for editorial, accounting, and computer services essential for the maintenance of funding and high quality research within the Department. In addition, there are approximately 20 research assistants that carry out diverse functions within individual laboratories ranging from laboratory management to performing individual research projects.
