The main research focus of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics faculty is cell physiology and cell biology using biochemical, biophysical and molecular biological approaches. Within this mechanistic focus, specific areas of research are in cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, neuronal, musculoskeletal, kidney/liver/gastrointestinal and endocrine systems under both physiological and pathological conditions.
