MSMP Teaching Assistants

2023 Teaching Assistants

Core TA's: Jemima Brittlebank, Laura Radulescu, Grant Volpe, Ornella Ngameni, Muna Anachebe


Medical Physiology Teaching Assistants are all current second year students or recent MSMP alumni. They are a diverse group of individuals who have all demonstrated their knowledge of physiology with exceptional academic performance throughout the core curriculum. MSMP TAs are instrumental in supporting the success of incoming students each year by holding regular office hours and study sessions, hosting recitations sessions, assiting with exam reviews, and providing endless support and guidance.


Core Team 

Jemima Brittlebank, MS 2023, Senior TA
Jemi graduated from the MSMP in May of 2023. She will be this year's Senior TA. She was born in Guyana; a small country in South America just north of Brazil and has lived in the Bahamas, Brooklyn New York & Houston Texas all before moving to Cleveland. She graduated from the University of Houston with a major in Medical Nutrition and a minor in Medicine & Society. She has always had a fascination with the hidden facets of everyday life; mainly with unique sea creatures she found while at the beach. Once introduced to Biology in middle school her fascination shifted to the world of Human Anatomy & Physiology. The MSMP gave her an opportunity to dive deeper into the inner workings of the human body and to learn more of the very things she loves.

Laura Radulescu, MS 2024, Core TA
Laura grew up in Lexington, KY. She attended Hamilton College, where she majored in Biology and minored in Women and Gender Studies. Following her college graduation in 2022, she enrolled in the MSMP program, where she is currently a second year student. She intends to graduate in the spring of 2024 and attend medical school afterwards.

Ornella Ngameni, MS 2024, Core TA
Ornella was born in Cameroon and immigrated to Maryland where she attended McDaniel College. She majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. Following her college graduation, she worked in various Covid-19/ biotech labs as a contractor. She later enrolled in the MSMP program in 2022. She intends to graduate in the spring of 2024 and matriculate into a professional program. 

Muna Anachebe, MS 2024, Core TA
Muna is from Lagos, Nigeria, and graduated from Xavier University in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Biophysics and from the University of Notre Dame in 2022 with a Master's in Science and Technology Entrepreneurship. He is a second-year student in the MSMP program and intends to graduate in May 2024.

Grant Volpe, MS 2024, Core TA
Grant graduated from The Ohio State University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience. He is currently a second year student in the MSMP program with plans to graduate in the Spring of 2024. Following graduation from the MSMP program he hopes to matriculate into medical school.


Electives - Clinical Reasoning 

DeAngelo Dortch, MS 2022, Clinical Reasoning TA
DeAngelo was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. He graduated from the MSMP program in 2022, and served as a Clinical Reasoning TA in the 2022-2023 school year and will continue on this year. Additionally he works as a scribe in a Geriatric Clinic. He plans to apply to medical school and desires to specialize in either Pediatric Anesthesia or Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

Joshua Moody, MS 2023, Clinical Reasoning TA 
Joshua graduated from the MSMP program in 2023. He obtained his bachelor degree from the College of William and Mary in 2019 in neuroscience, with a minor in biochemistry. He is planning to apply to medical school in the upcoming cycle, and has a particular interest in pediatric neurosurgery. 

Xuan Anh Le, MS 2023, Clinical Reasoning TA
Xuan Anh is this year’s Clinical Reasoning TA. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam and moved to Cleveland when she was 2 years old. She graduated from Denison University with a BS in Biochemistry. Graduated from the MSMP in the Spring of 2023. Completed her Area of Concentration in Neuroscience at University Hospital where she spent 6 weeks rotating in different neurologic subspecialties. She plans to attend medical school and specialize in neurology.

Nihit Tyagi, MS 2023, Clinical Reasoning TA
Nihit graduated from The Ohio State University in 2021 with a major in Biology. When he’s not at work as a PCNA at the Cleveland Clinic or reviewing Clinical Reasoning coursework, you can find him at your local climbing gym. Nihit has plans to use the skills developed in the MSMP program to become a physician. 
Pathological Basis of Disease 


Pathophysiology

Laura Lapioli, MS 2023, Pathophysiology TA
Laura is from Elizabethtown, PA. She graduated from Penn State University in 2020 with a BS in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and a minor in Microbiology. During undergrad she worked as a research assistant at the university’s Sports Concussion Laboratory. This year she is working as a scribe at Cleveland Clinic, alongside being a TA. Laura has future plans to attend medical school. 


Exercise Physiology

Melissa Rodriguez, MS 2023, Exercise Physiology TA
Melissa graduated from the University of South Florida in 2018 with a BS in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Biomedical Physics. She worked as a Core TA 2022-2023 academic year and is currently working as a TA for Exercise Physiology. Melissa grew up in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and in her spare time likes to cook. Empowered by her latin pride she gave a speech on stereotype threat at the LatinX graduation Spring 2023. Her future career goals include attending medical school, with a special interest in academic medicine and internal medicine.
